Walter Formia is a visual artist. He currently lives and works in Argentina.
Although he considers as self-taught artist, from an early age started studying drawing and painting in different institutions in the country, preferably in the cities Córdoba and Buenos Aires. Later continues his studies with the professor, artist and art curator Dante Montich,
His work has as background form the painting of the German neo-expressionism, as well as the Italian transavantgarde, the new American figuration and the urban art.
His first exhibitions were concentrated in the pictorial work, to later move to the Object and Installation as spatial and conceptual possibilities.
His work refers to a toxic society, in a directly action as plastic position beyond any rational construction. Sarcastic, animal and lucid; his image develops in the becoming of a constant dynamic, in an overflow of signs that seem to evoke everything at a same time.

2018 – Córdoba, Argentine: “Under Darkness” Individual art exhibition at the Casona Municipal, where he combined two-dimensional work (drawing and painting) with objects and a video, configuring a large installation.
2019 – Córdoba, Argentine: He exhibited at the 7th edition of the Contemporary Art Market with Vía Margutta Gallery, together with leading artists as Carlos Alonso, Ides Kilhen and Raúl Diaz. MAC2019. Historic Town Hall.

2019 – Personal Met with Johnny Deep in Indio California, USA. An artwork of his authorship is given to the actor, continuing related conversations.
2022 – Currently participating in an art competition in NY, USA, in the 35th Chelsea International Fine Art Competition.
